Merry Christmas to you all! Wishing you a fabulous break and a wonderful New Year. The studio will re-open again on the 7th January but emails will be checked for anything urgent. Enjoy!

Reflection on 2012!

As 2012 is drawing to an end, I am taking the time to reflect upon all the opportunities that have come my way this year and to celebrate my highlights!

The best part of 2012 has been seeing the 'Nostalgia' stationery collection I produced with high street giant 'Wilkinson' finally hit the shops! After all the hard work that went in to the collection between myself and the brilliant trends team, it it fantastic to see the finished result in 250 stores throughout the UK with my photo next to them! Being credited doesn't happen too often so this is pretty amazing.

Other highlights include my first licensing deal! I have been working with soft furnishing supplier 'Primeur' on their new 'Artistic Britain' project. They are now selling a selection of my work on canvases and cushions, and I also have another exciting project in progress to be announced soon! Here are a few of my designs which you can also see at Artistic Britain

I exhibited at 'Pulse' in Earls's Court in the summer. This was my first London Trade show and it was great to meet with buyers and interior designers and get such great feedback. There is so much that goes in to a trade show but it was all worth it in the end! Here is a pic of our lovely stand;

The press coverage for Laura Olivia has been particularly great this year , here are my favourite magazines, you can see the articles in my press section.

Finally, I have been a bit quiet over the last year in terms of soft furnishings design as I have been working exclusively for a fashion designer in Mauritius. I am aching to show you all the digital prints that will be used for resort-wear garments which no doubt I will be able to do in 2013.

Plans for 2013 will start with the launch of my new collection of home accessories and who knows where they will end! Thank you to all my clients, customers, online stockists and followers who have made 2012 such a great year .

Winter Woolies!

As the temperature drops I seem to be more and more aware of the lovely wooly textile designers out there! Today I'm looking at the various designer-makers who love to knit, stitch and create beautiful homewares.

The first is Catherine Tough, whose Jaquard knits use fine lambswool yarn, which have been washed and felted to produce all sorts of gorgeous home accessories, socks, scarves and much more. See her full collection at Catherine Tough

 I could not cover wooly textiles without mentioning the fabulous Donna Wilson! Since making weird and wonderful knitted creatures for her degree show, Donna has really made a name for herself, branching out in to lambswool blankets, cushions, rugs and lots of other fabulous accessories. Her work is now stocked in Liberty, John Lewis, Heals, Paperchase and many more independent stores. See her work at Donna Wilson

Here are a few more of my favourite woolies-

Pattern Picks: Rifle Paper Company

I recently came across this lovely boutique stationery brand whilst browsing the website of my all time favourite retailer, Liberty of London which is their nearest stockist. The Rifle Paper Company is based in Florida and was created by designer 'Anna Bond' together with her husband Nathan. I love her hand painted and illustrative style painted  style which she mixes with effective typography use. The colour palettes are gorgeous too, particularly their botanical journals seen here. To view their full collection you can visit Rifle Paper Company

Loving Lola Rose!

Some of you may know Lola Rose as a renowned jewellery brand, but recently designer 'Nicola Gewirtz' has branched out into all sorts of beautiful products over beauty and accessories. Browsing in John Lewis this for Christmas I found these gorgeous gifts covered in cute miniature prints in a range of colourways. As you may have realized I have a soft spot for pretty packaging! My favourite product is this set of soaps, each individually wrapped in different surface patterns, lovely! See the full range at Lola Rose
