Designer of the Month: Amy Butler

Its so cold and snowy that I'm needing a fix of something cheerful and sunny to get me through the day, which has come in the form of Amy Butler and her fabulous fabrics!. If you are not familiar with Amy Butler you have probably seen her fabrics without realizing it in the likes of John Lewis or any independent fabric store, as one of her most well known clients is Rowan fabrics. She has also produced a wallpaper collection for Graham and Brown, a collection of handbags for Kalencom and a stationery range for Chronicle to name a just a few of her projects. She also supplies sewing patterns to highstreet stores and has her own range of books, there is no stopping this designer!

I often find that using flat colour in a program like Illustrator can make designs look a little lifeless, but Amy really shows how it can be used successfully to produce designs that are full of life and character. Take a look at her full collection  here.
